NDSS

It is worthwhile becoming a member of the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).  NDSS provides Commonwealth Government subsidised blood testing strips and free needles and syringes for insulin users. It is an initiative of the Australian Government and is administered by Diabetes Australia.  Your CDE or a doctor can register you with the NDSS. Registration with NDSS is free and open to anyone with a valid Medicare card.  You can begin to fill out a Registration form at https://www.ndss.com.au/registration.   Bring this form with you to see Isabel or your doctor and they can complete this so you can receive your card and get discounts.  If you need to start insulin or another injectable diabetes medication then you will need a new form signed and a new card.  Ring 1300 136 588 for a replacement card or for further information.
